Break CampsDysart Spring Camp registration is now open. Spring Camp will be held at Sunset Hills Elementary. Spring Camp is from March 16th-20th. Students will participate in a variety of fun activities such as arts and crafts, STEM projects, robotics and gaming, and cooking club. The weekly camp costs $190 for five days and $170 for four days. Additional children receive a 15% discount. Participation is available for children ages 5-12. Students will enjoy a wide variety of on site fun-filled, educational and physical activities. Hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and closing at 4pm on Friday. Participation is flexible for family convenience. CPR & First AidOur First Aid CPR AED Course teaches students lifesaving skills in CPR, how to use an AED and First Aid basics which include, medical, injury and environmental emergencies. Class is taught by AHA Certified Instructors with Everyday Heroes CPR, LLC Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an AHA K12 Course Completion Card valid for 2 years. Community Open TrackPhysical EnrichmentOpen Track @ Shadow Ridge is open to all ages and abilities. The mission of Open Track is to provide the community an opportunity to improve fitness through fellowship and exercise. Coach Nietert provides workouts for all levels of runners and multiple distances. If you are looking to just walk or jog consistently, you can do that too. We meet every Wednesday Night at Shadow Ridge. 6:15 pm will start warm ups and drills followed by the workout at 6:30 pm. We will provide instruction and everything you need. This is a training and informative opportunity for all levels. Our Program follows 12 week cycles focused to improve endurance and speed. This 2 Hour Instructional Course helps to prepare students for their Permit Exam. Students who successfully complete the program and pass the online test will receive an email with instructions to go to MVD with the required documents to pick up their Learners Permit. Prior to class, an account must be created with MVD and the $7.00 MVD Learners Permit Test paid for. Driver's Ed - SpringDriver's EducationDysart Unified School District's Community Education Department offers an Arizona Department of Transportation approved Drivers Education program for high school students including behind-the-wheel training for students that are at least 15 years, 6 months. Students must have their driving permit in order to receive the behind-the-wheel training. Students who successfully complete the program, which requires 100% attendance, will receive an official Driver Education Certificate which fulfills the state requirement for the Graduated License. The program is offered several times throughout the school year and also during the summer. The cost for the class is $550 and includes behind-the-wheel training. We do offer a 20% discount for Dysart Employees only. Send us an email, via your Dysart email to driversed@dysart.org to receive the discount code. Each session is 10 weeks long; 5 weeks of lecture followed by 5 weeks of behind-the-wheel*. Summer Sessions are condensed. We have expanded and offer two different lecture options. The traditional Saturdays and now a Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Thursday option in the afternoons after school. Registration limit for each of the Sessions is 28 Students. Behind the wheel time is scheduled throughout the week and on weekends. You will have the option to choose the time that works best for you during the lecture portion of the class.
